Mathieu Ferrier et Chung-Leng Tran
Eyrolles, septembre 2013

Canon Rebel T1i 500D and Nikon D5000 for DSLR Beginning Photographers

Wiley published two new Books about the Canon Rebel T1i / 500D (outside US) and the Nikon D5000 for Digital SLR Novices Photographers
“These books are the result of meeting so many people who gave up trying to learn from traditional photography books and magazines, which tend to feature technical lingo and advanced topics that are tough for beginners to decipher. As a result, they didn’t have the knowledge they needed to achieve the professional results they envisioned when they invested in their cameras. These books, by contrast, explain all the features of the latest entry level DSLR cameras, as well as how handle common tasks like getting images onto a PC and printing, in simple, straighforward language." The assumption is that the reader has little to no knowledge of general photography terms or techniques. The goal of each book is to familiarize the reader with the controls and features of their camera so they can apply them to any shooting situation. Chapters cover: • Shooting in auto-mode • Adjusting image quality and size • Reviewing images • Controlling exposure • Using focus features • Managing color • Printing and sharing • Exploring the on-board controls • Using live view and playback modes • Dialing in exposure and lighting controls • Manipulating focus and color controls • Situational shooting and video recording • Getting pics onto a PC for editing • Printing, posting online, and other ways to share images • Part of Tens including ten editing tricks and pro functions Julie Adair King has been covering digital cameras and photography for over a decade. Along with the previous six editions of Digital Photography For Dummies, Julie Adair King has also written For Dummies guides covering specific Nikon and Canon digital SLR cameras, as well as Digital Photos Projects For Dummies. She also works one-on-one with beginning digital photographers in the classroom at the Palm Beach Photographic Centre.

Nikon COOLPIX L19 Feature Highlights
Intelligent automation contributes to carefree shooting - Easy Auto Mode simplifies photography by taking control of settings; just turn on the camera and shoot freely. Activated in Easy Auto Mode, Nikon's Scene Auto Selector eliminates the need to manually select a scene mode to match the shot, making it faster and easier to capture the moment in beautiful fashion. The COOLPIX L19 use this intelligent function to analyze the subject and its surrounding settings and automatically selects the most appropriate scene mode to achieve optimal results.

Nikon's exclusive Smart Portrait System - Automatically detecting as many as 12 faces in the shot, Face-priority AF helps produce satisfying portraits by adjusting focus and exposure. Smile Mode helps to faithfully record precious moments by automatically releasing the shutter when the subject smiles. Blink Warning displays an alert when it suspects that a subject has blinked. Now featuring faster processing speed, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix automatically corrects any perceived red-eye effect before saving the image to memory.

A trio of advanced image stabilizing features helps ensure sharper results - Motion Detection automatically controls shutter speed and the ISO setting to compensate for subject movement as well as camera shake. ISO 1600 capability allows faster shutter speeds when shooting in low light or capturing fast-moving subjects. And, Nikon's original BSS (Best Shot Selector) function automatically shoots a series of sequential frames and saves the one with the sharpest focus.

AA-size battery for shoot-anywhere convenience - The COOLPIX L19 is powered by AA-size battery, for the added advantage of being able to pick up a new set in virtually any corner of the world. That means shooting with reassuring freedom from any worries about recharging or running out of power when a special shutter chance presents itself.

Nikon D3 Digital SLR Camera IF Product Design Award 2009

The Nikon D3 digital SLR camera is the recipient of Germany's International Forum Design's Product Design Award. This award is presented annually by International Forum Design GmbH, sponsor of the globally prominent industrial design awards.
The International Forum Design (iF), based in Hannover Germany, has sponsored the iF Product Design Awards since 1953, selecting industrial products exhibiting superior design from those manufactured the world over, making them highly prestigious and globally respected awards. Aspects including quality of design, functionality, degree of innovation, ease of use, as well as any effects the product may have on the environment are considered with product evaluation and award selection.
The D3 is Nikon's flagship FX-format digital SLR camera, the first FX-format model released by Nikon. In designing the D3, Nikon first asked premier industrial designer, Giorgetto Giugiaro, to present a design exhibiting form and value immediately recognizable by anyone who sees it. Next, Nikon in-house design team thoroughly examined each individual component to achieve a more ergonomic and refined form based on Mr.Giugiaro's original design. Nikon primary design goal was an intuitive design offering operation that supports accurate and comfortable shooting under any circumstance with a high-quality and attractive look. The D3 has been extremely well received by professional photographers, primarily sports and press photographers, since its release in November 2007.

Nouveau reflex digital professionnel Nikon D3X
