ART WORK SPACE is a new independent gallery, situated in The Hempel Hotel, London. The dc gallery is the brainchild of NAOMI MURTAGH, whose ambition is to create a forum in which to showcase the work of emerging Artists working in all the various disciplines of Fine Art.
The gallery is situated in what was the hotel’s restaurant; a beautiful, minimalist space that cries out for work to be displayed within it. Naomi Murtagh, who was already a successful fashion designer with a passion for the Arts and a desire to move closer towards them, heard The Hempel had plans to move its restaurant. She took a chance and approached them with a proposal to house a gallery in the resulting empty space. The hotel, which has an impressive design heritage of its own, saw the drive and talent that could be brought to the space and agreed to let her take it, without condition; giving absolute curatorial freedom over the artistic programming.
Naomi Murtagh’s ambition for ART WORK SPACE is that it becomes a platform for upcoming artists and is recognised for the consistently high quality of work exhibited within it.
