Michael Peterson: Evolution / Revolution, Arkansas Arts Center

Michael Peterson: Evolution / Revolution
Arkansas Arts Center, Little Rock
Through July 3, 2011

Following the unique trajectory of the wood sculptor MICHAEL PETERSON over the last 20 years, the exhibition traces the evolution from the artist’s early lathe-turned bowls to his current, revolutionary sculptures devoid of the lathe. More than 20 of his most recent sculptures are on display adjacent to nearly 15 earlier works to contrast and highlight Peterson’s artistic progression, which is heavily inspired by the geographic environment of the Pacific Northwest.

The exhibition is organized by the Bellevue Arts Museum.

Michael Peterson: Evolution/Revolution is co-curated by MICHAEL MONROE and STEFANO CATALANI

This exhibition has been made possible by the support of the Windgate Charitable Foundation. Additional support has been provided by the Institute of Library and Museum Services. Exhibition sponsors are Cindy and Greg Feltus and Munro Foundation.
