Phoenix Art Museum (PhxArt) has announced the recipients of the 2025 Arizona Artist Awards. Alice Leora Briggs was named the recipient of the 2025 Scult Family Artist Award and Chris Ignacio and Jan Talmadge Davids were named the recipients of the 2025 Sally and Richard Lehmann Emerging Artist Awards (Lehmann Emerging Artist Awards). New this year is the Sette/Cohn Artist Award, established in 2024 to expand the Arizona Artist Awards program and deepen PhxArt’s support of local artists. Shaunté Glover was named the inaugural recipient. As part of the awards, each artist receives a lifetime Membership to Phoenix Art Museum as well as funds to support their artistic practice. Briggs, Ignacio, and Talmadge Davids will also have the opportunity to exhibit their work in solo and group exhibitions at the Museum premiering in summer 2026.

Alice Leora Briggs: Scult Family Artist Award

Each year, Phoenix Art Museum recognizes a mid-career Arizona-based artist with the Scult Family Artist Award. Eligible candidates must have resided in Arizona for a minimum of four consecutive years and are nominated by a group of curators, museum directors, and other arts professionals from across the state. Their candidacy is evaluated based on their demonstration of artistic excellence, active creation and exhibition of new work, and career-spanning evolution. Following a robust review process, a jury of curators, art scholars, artists, and other experts and professionals in the field from across the country selects the recipient. The Scult Family Artist Award includes monetary support of $20,000 and an invitation to present a solo exhibition of new and past work at the Museum. The 2025 Scult Artist Award jury included Lana Meador, Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, San Antonio Museum of Art; Olivia Miller, Executive Director, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at the University of Oregon; Ann Morton, 2019 Scult Family Artist Award recipient; Christian Ramírez, Cohn Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art and Director of Engagement, Phoenix Art Museum; and Jeff Scult.

The 2025 Arlene and Morton Scult Artist Award recipient is Alice Leora Briggs. Born in an oil boomtown in West Texas, Briggs grew up in Idaho’s Snake River Valley and is now based in Tucson, Arizona. Through her practice, she investigates human frailties through drawings, woodcuts, letterpress broadsides, site-specific installations, and books. Her work has been featured in more than 50 solo exhibitions and is represented in more than 35 public collections, including those of Phoenix Art Museum; Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art; Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco; Museum of Fine Arts Houston; Library of Congress; Oxford’s Bodleian Library; and Yale’s Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library.  Her publications include Dreamland: The Way Out of Juárez (2010); an illuminated manuscript-police blotter created with writer Charles Bowden; Abecedario de Juárez: An Illustrated Lexicon (2022) produced with photojournalist Julián Cardona; and The Room, a portfolio of woodcuts created with U.S. poet laureate Mark Strand. Briggs was a Fulbright Scholar at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Slovakia, and received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2020. She received her MFA from the University of Iowa and is represented by Evoke Contemporary in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Etherton Gallery in Tucson, Arizona.  

Chris Ignacio and Jan Talmadge Davids: Lehmann Emerging Artist Awards

The Lehmann Emerging Artist Awards foster the creative practices and careers of emerging Arizona-based artists. Candidates must have resided in Arizona for a minimum of one year and are invited to apply through an annual open call hosted by Artlink, a non-profit organization that has supported and amplified Arizona artists and community-based art events and initiatives for more than 30 years. Recipients receive $10,000 in monetary support and the opportunity to present a joint exhibition at the Museum with fellow Lehmann awardees. The 2025 Lehmann Emerging Artist Awards jury was also assembled by Ramírez and included Ramírez; Lana Meador, Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, San Antonio Museum of Art; Olivia Miller, Executive Director, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at the University of Oregon; Ann Morton, 2019 Scult Family Artist Award recipient; and Sally Lehmann.

The Museum has named Chris Ignacio and Jan Talmadge Davids as the recipients of the 2025 Lehmann Emerging Artist Awards. Based in Phoenix, Chris Ignacio is a Filipino-American puppeteer, producer, educator, and interdisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersection of voice, technology, and identity. He began his puppetry career in New York in 2012, training with experimental artists at La MaMa and working across theater, community arts, and livestream media. In 2023, he made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera as a puppeteer in Florencia en el Amazonas, directed by Mary Zimmerman. He has also premiered original puppetry works at New York theaters including La MaMa, The Tank, and The Brick, and has toured both nationally and abroad. In Phoenix, Ignacio has served as a media designer for major institutions such as Ballet Arizona, Arizona Broadway Theater, Arizona Opera, and Childsplay. His original projects, including those featured in exhibitions at Vision Gallery and Mesa Arts Center, center community collaboration, particularly with young people or people with limited arts exposure. He holds an MFA in Theatre/Interdisciplinary Digital Media from Arizona State University (ASU), where he now teaches motion capture and 3D animation. Ignacio also serves as creative producer for the T. Denny Sanford Harmony Institute at ASU. 

Jan Talmadge Davids

Jan Talmadge Davids works in clay and mixed media to explore landscapes of her childhood and their local  ecologies and to articulate ideas of place-making. Through installation and material sensitivities, she invites the viewer to engage in the ideas of fragility and vulnerability. Talmadge Davids was born in Tucson, Arizona, spending her youth in the southeastern part of the state. She attended the University of Arizona, California State University at Long Beach, and then came from Los Angeles to pursue her MFA at the Herberger School of Art and Design, where she found the opportunity to reconcile her past with her present, which is embedded in the desert landscape. Her work has been shown at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery; The Carolyn Campanga Klefeeld Contemporary Art Museum in Long Beach, CA; Tempe Center for the Arts; eye lounge; The Tucson Museum of Art; and Art d’Core Gala.

Shaunté Glover: Sette/Cohn Artist Award

Established in 2024, the Sette/Cohn Artist Award was created to expand PhxArt’s Arizona Artist Awards program.  The new $5,000 prize is awarded to an emerging Arizona artist selected from the Lehmann Emerging Artist Award application pool as part of a five-year initiative dedicated to supporting arts engagement and strengthening community partnerships. It is named in honor of Lisa Sette, who has supported and represented Arizona-based artists, both through her gallery and personally, for more than 40 years, and Lee and Mike Cohn, longtime Museum supporters who in 2023 provided the seed funding to launch the Phoenix Art Museum Education and Engagement Excellence Fund and have extended their generosity to support Arizona-based artists. The award’s recipient is selected by Christian Ramírez, Cohn Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art and Director of Engagement, Phoenix Art Museum; Olga Viso, Selig Family Chief Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs, Phoenix Art Museum; Lee and Mike Cohn; and Lisa Sette.

The inaugural 2025 Sette/Cohn Artist Award recipient is Shaunté Glover. Glover is a multidisciplinary artist based in Phoenix, Arizona. Her creative journey spans photography, film, printmaking, and sculpture, exploring identity and representation to use art as a catalyst to increase visibility, strengthen community engagement, and amplify the voices of marginalized communities, particularly those of Black women. Rooted in her upbringing in South Phoenix, Glover’s work draws from memories of childhood, basketball, family, and everyday neighborhood life. She combines these influences into layered visual narratives that reflect lived experience and cultural nuance.

Photo London marks its 10th anniversary in May with a special edition celebrating London and its rich traditions of photography. The Fair returns to Somerset House, from 15-18 May 2025 with previews on 14 May.

Photo London Founders Michael Benson and Fariba Farshad, said: “We are excited to be welcoming such a strong group of international galleries for our landmark tenth edition at Somerset House, including several that have participated in every Fair since the very beginning, and others returning after an absence especially to celebrate this landmark moment with us. We are set to host our largest ever number of collectors and acquisition groups from across the world, attracted by our special anniversary programme including a major exhibition celebrating London and its rich traditions of photography that platforms the city itself this year’s Master of Photography. This exhibition is a testament to all that Photo London has achieved in its first decade during which we have worked closely with the photography community to establish London as an important global hub for the medium. We also celebrate the important role of the book in the photography ecosystem through the creation of a weekend book market for independent publishers, and further expand our long tradition of support for emerging artists through the launch of the new Positions section of the Fair providing a platform for unrepresented artists supported by collectors.”

PHOTO LONDON 2025 EXHIBITORS

Photo London 2025 has confirmed a strong list of international participants featuring several galleries that have exhibited at every edition of the Fair since 2015 including: Robert Hershkowitz Ltd (Lindfield) bringing a selection of historic images of London; Purdy Hicks Gallery (London) presenting a booth dedicated to women artists; CAMERA WORK (Berlin) showing a curated selection of classic and contemporary masterpieces ranging from Irving Penn’s legendary work ‘Mouth’ to Chris Levine’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II; and Bildhalle (Zurich) exhibiting a curated booth including rare vintage prints from the 1949 London series by avant-garde Swiss photographer René Groebli.

Several galleries are presenting solo booths, including: ROSEGALLERY (Santa Monica) returning with Tania Franco Klein, the recipient of the Photo London Emerging Photographer award in 2018; Galerie Bacqueville (Lille) showing a selection of previously unseen works by David de Beyter from his series ‘The Skeptics’; Guerin Projects (London) bringing abstract works on the theme of love by British-American Robin Hunter Blake; Polka Galerie (Paris) presenting Platinum palladium prints by Photo London’s inaugural Master of Photography Sebastião Salgado; and UP Gallery (Taiwan) graduating from Discovery to the main gallery section with a solo presentation of unique works by Taipei-based Mia Liu.

Amongst the galleries celebrating the tenth edition of Photo London with a highlights presentation of greatest hits from the last ten years is Peter Fetterman Gallery (Santa Monica), whilst Amar Gallery (London) presents work by Dora Maar, the Surrealist photographer immortalised as Pablo Picasso's ‘Weeping Woman’ and the official photographer to the Black Panther Party, Stephen Shames. The Music Photo Gallery dedicate their booth to classic images of musicians including Bob Dylan and John Lennon and Podbielski Contemporary (Milan) return with a focus on the Middle East including works by Shadi Ghadirian (Tehran), Rania Matar (Lebanon), Steve Sabella (Palestine) and Yuval Yairi (Israel) creating a dialogue between cultures, faith and current realities.

A strong Latin and South American focus is present at the fair with Bendana-Pinel (Paris) and ROLF (Buenos Aires) showcasing contemporary artists from the region while David Hill Gallery (London) will bring vintage photographs by Graciela Iturbide. Another Discovery section graduate EUQINOM Gallery (San Francisco) bring a curated booth of women artists using alternative photographic techniques including cyanotypes by Adama Delphine Fawundu and photograms by Klea McKenna, whilst first-time exhibitors Close Gallery (Somerset) showcase work by Canadian artist Carali McCall who will also do a live performance at the Fair.

2025 sees the return of the special partnership with TurkishBank UK that brings exciting galleries from the region to London including Vision Art Platform, Kairos and Simbart Projects (all Istanbul) who will bring a solo booth of Begüm Mütevellioğlu including unseen work using a gum bichromate photography technique that will allow her to merge photographic print with painting. Belmond returns to Photo London with the second instalment of its acclaimed ‘Belmond Legends’ series, which commissions evocative travel photography "As Seen By" world-renowned artists. For 2025,

Belmond presents an exclusive solo exhibition by renowned American photographer Colin Dodgson. This original collection chronicles extraordinary journeys aboard two of Belmond’s iconic sleeper trains: the Andean Explorer, which winds through the majestic high Andes of Peru, and the Eastern & Oriental Express, which meanders through the lush Malaysian jungle. The Peru series is hand-printed by the artist and an accompanying collectible art book of Colin Dodgson's Andean Explorer series, along with previously unseen images, will be published by the esteemed Parisian art house RVB Books. The book will be available through RVB Books' global distribution network, including select bookstores, galleries, and online platforms.

Photography can include sculpture, painting, performance, fabric, moving image, and even sound, and at Photo London we celebrate photography as an art object in all its forms. PHOTO LONDON 2025: DISCOVERY

Photo London’s Discovery section is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading platforms for emerging photographers and galleries. Curated by the critic and author Charlotte Jansen, Discovery once again promises to be a highlight of the Fair featuring around 20 galleries including exciting newcomers such as Mortal Machine Gallery (New Orleans) showcasing Bee Gats, a photographer developing a reputation for his gritty, raw and unfiltered portraits of Miami's underground. Other highlights include Victoria Law (London) bringing Venezuelan-born Lucia Pizzani whose photo-based works and sculptures tells stories about colonialism and nature through her use of charged materials such as pre-Hispanic tree bark paper, Contour Gallery (Amsterdam) showcasing late career artist Margriet Smulders who creates beautiful, large-scale tableau with flowers riffing on Dutch traditions in painting, and Roman Road (London) presenting Polina Piech, who graduates from the RCA this year, and is interested in capturing the movement of natural environments, working like a painter ‘en plein air’.

Photo London Discovery section Curator, Charlotte Jansen, said: “The Discovery section at Photo London has always been, for me, the most exciting area of the Fair. As the name implies, it’s where you might find things that you’ve never seen before, which is quite a rarity these days, given our image-saturated culture. I am excited to see a sharp shift away from portraiture towards semi-abstraction and abstraction across many booths this year and to witness the ways contemporary artists are using the camera in a painterly way, like a brush, with captivating results.”

PHOTO LONDON 2025: POSITIONS

Photo London’s Positions is a unique initiative that aims to extend Photo London’s role as a champion of emerging talent. Curated by arts patron and founder of the ISelf Collection, Maria Sukkar, Positions is a distinct section within the Fair that constitutes a significant platform for unrepresented photographic artists. Positions offers a truly unique opportunity for a group of collectors and patrons of the arts to play an invaluable role to support unrepresented artists to show their work side-by-side with galleries in a traditional art fair format. Positions features an exciting group of artists including Adam Rouhana, Giulia Mangione, Tim Rudman, Roberto Conde, Bibi Setareh Manavi, Kalpesh Lathigra and Aikaterini Gegisian.

Photo London Positions Curator, Maria Sukkar, said: “I’m incredibly excited about Positions – it’s such a bold and forward-thinking initiative that feels especially needed right now. Photography, as a medium, is still burgeoning in terms of the market, and galleries are often hesitant to take on photographers until much later stages in their careers. This section fills that gap by providing a vital platform for unrepresented talent, offering them the recognition and opportunities they might not otherwise have. Ultimately, my hope is that Positions not only elevates these voices but also reshapes how collectors and curators engage with emerging photographers, solidifying its place as a catalyst for innovation within the art fair model.”

PHOTO LONDON 2025: SPECIAL EXHIBITION ‘LONDON LIVES’

Presented in both the Embankment East & West Galleries at Somerset House, the special exhibition ‘London Lives’ curated by critic and author Francis Hodgson features a dazzling array of creative responses to the City by around 30 of its leading image makers including David Bailey, James Barnor, Antony Cairns, Jamie Hawkesworth, Hannah Starkey, Joy Gregory, Nadav Kander, Idris Khan, Rut Blees Luxemburg, Christian Marclay, Mary McCartney, Simon Roberts, Mitra Tabrizian and Nick Turpin. The exhibition also includes new commissions from Heather Agyepong, Jermaine Francis and Hannah Hughes, whose work will also be published exclusively in the FT Magazine as part of Photo London’s longstanding partnership with FT Weekend. This ambitious and wide-ranging exhibition is both an ode to London and the photography it has inspired.

Curator of ‘London Lives’, Francis Hodgson, said: “For a few days in the spring of every year, Photo London has ruled over London from its great palace on the Thames. As we celebrate its tenth anniversary, we remember that is just the point. Photo London is not a virtual fair, anywhere. Its participants – photographers, publishers, galleries and the rest – come from all over the world and have turned their eyes on every part of it and all its goings-on. But it remains a London fair, anchored in its host city. So we thought for the anniversary we’d celebrate London and what people get up to there. London, like all the really great cities in the world, has something of everything, and people from everywhere. Call it a melting-pot if you want; but we simply call it ‘London Lives’. The more the merrier.”

PHOTO LONDON 2025: BOOK MARKET

For the 2025 edition of Photo London, Ben Goulder curates the Fair’s first weekend Book Market (15-17 May) championing the vibrant and diverse communities of independent publishers and showcasing their artistry and vision on a global stage. London is a hub for independent arts publishing, and this new space features a broad selection of photography and arts publishing – from larger publications to zines, pamphlets, and other ephemera—with the aim of bringing diversity and innovation to the Photo London audience.

Highlights include 'Terminating Martin' Parr by Tom Pope, a conceptual debut publication from Folium Publishing that documents a 7-hour performance where Tom Pope destroyed 17 photographs by Martin Parr, Gareth McConnell’s 'Details of Sectarian Murals' published by Sorika that turns Northern Ireland’s strident political murals into mesmerising abstractions, and 'State of Emergency' by Max Pinckers that is the result of a decade-long collaboration with Mau Mau freedom fighters and survivors of colonial violence in Kenya.

Photo London Book Market Curator, Ben Goulder, said: “This initiative aims to bring together the best in photography publishing. From experimental approaches to photo book publishing, queer zines, risography, and artist monographs, the market highlights publishers who are pushing the medium forward. It is a celebration of print as a dynamic, time-based artform that bridges disciplines and fosters connections, while also emphasising the importance of small presses and DIY approaches to making publications.”

PHOTO LONDON 2025 AWARDS

Since its inception Photo London has run an annual award for an outstanding artist. In many cases the winner of the award has gone on to achieve significant international recognition such as the 2021 winner Heather Agyepong. For each of the past five editions the award has been presented in partnership with Nikon. 

In 2025 the Photo London x Nikon Emerging Photographer of the Year Award again highlights outstanding emerging photographers with shortlisted work presented in a special display at the Nikon Gallery at the Fair.

The Photo London x Hahnemühle Student Award returns to the Fair for the third time. Working with UK universities offering photography degrees, the award highlights the most exciting early-career talent within the industry, bringing their portfolios to international attention. The shortlisted students are granted the opportunity to print 5-10 artworks on their preferred Hahnemühle papers and present them in a dedicated exhibition at Photo London 2025. The winner is further awarded with a trip to the Hahnemühle mill in Germany to produce a new body of photographic work.

After celebrating a half-century of activity with a fantastic 2024 edition, marked by the return of large galleries and by many collectors, Arte Fiera looks to the future and confirms its growth under the leadership of Artistic Director Simone Menegoi and Managing Director Enea Righi. The exhibition’s traditional halls (25 and 26), reconfirmed for 2025, will showcase the Italian scene: current and past artists, new and established galleries, publishers, critics and institutions. A complete panorama of which Arte Fiera is a trusted interpreter, from post-war masters to emerging artists.

Arte Fiera’s Main Section, divided as always into post-war and contemporary art, will be accompanied by four invitation-only curated sections: Photography and moving images, Multiples, Pittura XXI, and, making its debut, Prospettiva, devoted to emerging artists, whether represented by new or established galleries.

Photography and moving images will be curated for the third year by Giangavino Pazzola, curator of Camera - Centro Italiano per la Fotografia in Turin. For the second year, Multiples will be curated by Alberto Salvadori, critic and art historian. Davide Ferri, critic and independent curator specializing in contemporary painting, has curated Pittura XXI since its first edition. The debut of Prospettiva is entrusted to Michele D’Aurizio, curator and critic working in Italy and in the United States.

Alongside the curated sections there will again be Percorso: not really a section, but an itinerary that thematically links some of the stands in the Main Section and in the curated sections. After two years devoted to artistic forms (Ceramics in 2023 and Drawing in 2024), Percorso 2025 will also concern the content of the works: in fact, the new theme is “Community.” The format's new theme for 2025 - on which the partnership with Ducati is renewed - is the idea of "Community," as expressed by "Community: not "I" but "we."

15 exhibitors in the section dedicated to publishing and 13 exhibitors in the section dedicated to institutions complete the list of 204 exhibitors at Arte Fiera 2025.

Arte Fiera Bologna 2025: Public program and special projects

Opus Novum #7: Maurizio Nannucci

Every year since 2019, Arte Fiera has commissioned an Italian established artist to create a work to be presented at the fair. The series, named Opus Novum, was inaugurated by Flavio Favelli, followed by Eva Marisaldi (2020), Stefano Arienti (2021), Liliana Moro (2022), Alberto Garutti (2023), and Luisa Lambri (2024).

This year, the artist invited to create a new work for the fair is Maurizio Nannucci (b. 1939), an internationally renowned Italian artist since the 1960s. The author of sound and photographic works as well as artist books, Maurizio Nannucci is known above all for his use of the word as artistic material, specifically in the form of neon writing for site-specific installations. His contribution to the “Opus Novum” series is a work in edition: a high GSM paper shopper with YOU CAN IMAGINE THE OPPOSITE printed on its two main sides. A provocation – now more urgent than ever – to consider a radical alternative. Author, exhibition curator, collector, and even publisher of multiples (with Exempla, Zona Archives, and Recorthings, which he founded), Maurizio Nannucci views serial production as a way to affirm the preeminence of the idea of the individual action and as an opportunity for the democratic propagation of art. An approach shared by Arte Fiera as demonstrated by the creation of Multiples, a specific section for works in edition.

Book Talk

The 4th edition of Book Talk, the series of conversations devoted entirely to art books, realized in partnership with BPER and curated by Guendalina Piselli, portrays the lively relationship between art and publishing, and its ability to stimulate great interest not only among professionals, but in the general public as well. A full calendar of presentations during the fair offers recently published works – essays, artist books, catalogs, and monographs – presented by critics, scholars, artists.

The Talks include Marie De Brugerolle, art historian and curator, in conversation with Vincenzo Estremo, theorist of moving images, presenting “Post-Performance Future. Method/e” (delpire and co edizioni), a research project analyzing the impact and legacy of performance art on the visual arts.

A double presentation creates a dialog between the book “Rematerialization of language 1978-2022” by Cristiana Perrella, Andrea Viliani, and Vittoria Pavesi (NERO Editions), and the monograph “Tomaso Binga. Euforia” by Eva Fabbris, Lilou Vidal, and Stefania Zuliani with Anna Cuomo (Lenz press), presented by Cristiana Perrella and Eva Fabbris.

Another double presentation compares “Skank Bloc Bologna: Alternative Art Spaces since 1977” by Roberto Pinto and Francesca Spampinato (Mousse), and “Anni Novanta. Arti visive, moda e design” by Alessandra Acocella and Valentina Rossi (postmedia books). The speakers will link the history of non-profit exhibition spaces in Bologna from 1977 to today with the Italian creative scene in the 1990s.

“On Patterns” (Mousse) by Adelaide Cioni will be an opportunity to focus on the research of this artist, protagonist of Arte Fiera’s performance program in collaboration with Fondazione Furla. She will talk with Ilaria Puri Purini, author of the book’s texts, and with Daria Khan, Jennifer Higgie, Jareh Das, Agnieszka Gratza, and Cecilia Canziani.

Arte Fiera renews its collaboration with Fondazione Furla for the live performance program curated by Bruna Roccasalva, the Foundation’s Artistic Director.

This year, the invited artist is Adelaide Cioni (b. Bologna,1976), who presents a performance created for the exhibition. Adelaide Cioni’s work regards the origins of the sign. Although her research covers a wide range of expressive forms - including painting, literature, music, and theater - her starting point remains drawing. 

At Arte Fiera 2025, Adelaide Cioni presents Five Geometric Songs, a performance in which abstract geometric motifs become the visualization of rhythm in space by means of five costumes designed by the artist and worn by five dancers who perform to original music by Dom Bouffard. The result of Cioni’s longtime focus on abstraction and color, on the origin of shape, and on the concept of patterns, the performance is both an evolution of a previous performance, Song for a Square, a Circle, a Triangle (2023) and a response to its specific location in Bologna: the Padiglione de l’Esprit Nouveau (1977), a faithful reproduction of an original design by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret for the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, exactly 100 years ago.

Arte Fiera Bologna 2025: Awards

BPER Prize

The BPER Prize, devoted to enhancing feminine themes, is part of the BPER Group’s traditional efforts focused on inclusion and the fight against gender violence, united with the promotion of culture and art.

As in 2024 (the first year of the prize), BPER will acquire the winning work and display it in its exhibition spaces, thereby providing visibility to the work and to the artist after the conclusion of Arte Fiera, Bologna 2025.

The jury is composed of Serena Morgagni, Director of Communications of BPER Banca; Caterina Riva, Director of MACTE - Museo di Arte Contemporanea di Termoli; Frida Carazzato, scientific curator at Museion - Museo d'arte moderna e contemporanea di Bolzano.

Marval Acquisition Award

Addressed primarily to emerging and mid-career artists, the Marval Acquisition Award consists of an acquisition to be added to the Marval Collection, a residency offered to the winning artist, and a targeted campaign on the Collection’s network to give the artist and gallery as much visibility as possible.

The jury is composed of collectors Marco and Valeria Curina.

Officina Arte Ducati Award

Ducati confirms the Officina Arte Ducati Award, linked to Percorso, the itinerary that thematically connects a selection of galleries exhibiting at the fair. The format's new theme for 2025 - on which the partnership with Ducati is renewed - is the idea of "Community," as expressed by the sentence "Community: not "I" but "we." As in the previous edition, the jury will assign the Award to the work that best expresses Ducati’s brand values: speed, design research, innovation.

The wining work will become part of the corporate collection in Borgo Panigale, supported by the Fondazione Ducati, which, including through its involvement in Arte Fiera, confirms its commitment to the public by promoting numerous cultural, educational, and social initiatives.

The jury is composed of Stefano Tarabusi, Design Manager Ducati Motor Holding; Andrea Bruciati, Director of Istituto Villa Adriana and Villa d’Este, Tivoli; Valentina Rossi, art historian, curator and lecturer.

Osvaldo Licini by Fainplast Award

The Osvaldo Licini by Fainplast Award stems from an idea by the Picena Contemporary Art Association with the collaboration of the City of Ascoli Piceno and the Fainplast Group.

The award is dedicated to Italian painting, with a selection method that involves about forty contemporary art professionals, including curators, critics, collectors, museum directors, and journalists, each of whom are requested to provide the name of two artists. In 2025, one of the five finalists will be chosen from the Pittura XXI section of Arte Fiera by a jury composed of Roberta Faraotti, collector; Bernardo Follini, Senior Curator Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation, Turin; Pier Paolo Pancotto, independent curator.

Righi Collection Award

The aim of the Righi Collection Award, in its third edition in 2025, is to acquire a work at Arte Fiera that will be added to the collections of MAMbo - Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna, with specific focus on the work of recent generations of Italian artists.

Currently consisting of over a thousand works of the highest quality, the Righi Collection is one of Italy’s largest private collections of contemporary art.

The jury is composed of Lorenzo Balbi, Artistic Director of MAMbo - Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna; Andrea Viliani, Director of Museo delle Civiltà, Rome; Bart van der Heide, Director of Museion - Museo d'arte moderna e contemporanea di Bolzano.

Rotary Award

Now in its 13th consecutive edition, the Rotary Award is presented to the most creative installation at Arte Fiera 2025, whether a creation by an artist or the overall setup of a stand.

The Award consists of the Rotary Award Arte Fiera 2025 to gallery, Special Rotaract Bologna Award, and the Special “Andrea Sapone” award by Rotary Club Bologna Valle del Samoggia.

The jury is composed of Davide Daninos, curator, critic, and Art Programme Leader, Marangoni Institute Florence; Giacomo Fontana, Chairman of Rotary Club Bologna Valle del Samoggia; Maura Pozzati, art critic and teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts, Bologna; Leonardo Regano, art historian and independent curator; Matteo Zauli, Director of Museo Carlo Zauli, Faenza.

The Collectors.Chain Prize by Art Defender

With The Collectors.Chain Prize, now in its 4th edition, Art Defender confirms its collaboration with Arte Fiera as well as its special relationship with photography. This year as well, the winning work, selected from those exhibited in the Photography and Moving Images section, will become part of Art Defender’s corporate collection, emphasizing the company’s dedication to collecting and to photography in particular. 

The jury, composed exclusively of collectors, will once again be chaired by Walter Guadagnini, an internationally recognized photography expert. Together with Chiara Massimello and Katia Da Ros, collectors, and with Rischa Paterlini, independent curator, Guadagnini will select the work that best interprets the history of photography in terms of either continuity or innovation.
