The Phillips Collection, Washington, DC, has tapped independent video production company Backstory Productions to create a documentary celebrating its traveling exhibition, “Georgia O’Keeffe: Abstraction.”
The documentary will depict teachers and students participating in “Teach with O’Keeffe,” an educational outreach program held in conjunction with the exhibition, which seeks to inspire children to learn—not only in visual arts, but in language arts, science, social studies and the performing arts—though the life and work of Georgia O’Keeffe.
A short version of the documentary will also be distributed through YouTube.
“Teach with O’Keeffe” is the second video production created by Backstory Productions for The Phillips Collection. In 2008, the firm produced a show in conjunction with the exhibition, “The Great American Epic: Jacob Lawrence’s Migration Series.” That video production also sought to inform teachers and students about the educational value of the visual arts.
